Meet Letitia “Tish” Newbold
Letitia “Tish” Newbold was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1971. She attended Piper High School and went on to study at the University of Phoenix, Plantation, FL where she completed her Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. In 2020, she graduated with honors earning a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University, Davie, Florida.
She pursued her working career in the Communications and Pharmaceutical corporate industries and has been employed as a Senior Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal for over 20 years. In this capacity, she manages portfolios in excess of $15 billion dollars.
At an early age, her involvement in the community began while working at the family-owned business, the Castle Restaurant, which was located in the heart of Broward County. Here is where she learned the importance of work ethics, civic duty to the community, being a voice for the voiceless, and engaging and interacting with all groups of people. This was the catalyst that led to her community involvement.
Letitia remains deeply involved in her community, actively addressing concerns, including participating in a town hall meeting to discuss a proposal to build a morgue in the area. After several meetings, county officials reassessed the project. She previously served as the Vice President of the Lakeside Homeowners Association and was an appointed alternate Board member for the Planning and Zoning Board for the City of Oakland Park. She is currently a Board member at Eternal Light Ministries, Inc. and consistently supports her community by volunteering with the United Way of Broward County Public Schools Reading Program and Kids and the Power of Work (KAPOW), where she teaches soft skills to grade school children.
Letitia is a devoted sister, aunt, and proud mother of her daughter, Tanasia, as well as a fur-mom to Coco and Leo. She has a passion for gardening and is an avid foodie. Letitia is also known for her famous red velvet cake, loved by many across the nation.
